BriteSmile® In-Office Tooth Whitening
BriteSmile® is a highly successful method of tooth whitening performed
in the office by our dental team. BriteSmile® tooth whitening can
remove even the toughest stains left by coffee, tea, tobacco, and soft
drinks, leaving the patient with an exceptionally white smile. What's
more, BriteSmile® does not harm the gums or teeth, and it only takes
one hour. We begin the teeth whitening procedure by applying a hydrogen-peroxide
gel to the teeth. This gel is then “activated” by light. Though
procedures like orthodontics and clear braces may take some time, the
results from tooth whitening procedures are immediately noticeable, and
most patients leave the office with a gleaming white smile and a new sense
of confidence. For more information on this procedure visit www.BriteSmile.com
Bleaching
Home bleaching ingredients are carbamide peroxide, hydrogen peroxide and
glycerin. These solutions have been in use in dentistry for many years,
however, they have only recently been used for bleaching. Most patients
find their teeth will lighten 1-2 shades on a dentist's shade guide. Treatment
time can vary-although most people see some results in about 5 days. Full
treatment time is usually 2-6 weeks. Patients with root sensitivity may
find the problem aggravated. Persons with allergies to carbamide peroxide,
hydrogen peroxide, and glycerin should not undergo treatment. Pregnant
women should not undergo treatment.
Dental Crowns
Dental crowns, also known as caps, are used to hide flawed, chipped, or
exceedingly discolored teeth. They function as a shell that fits securely
over the teeth, and are natural in appearance. Crowns also offer reinforcement
to damaged teeth, rendering them more resistant to injury, and lessen
physical discomfort. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, dental crowns
can thoroughly enhance a person's smile! See examples on Our
Results page.
Porcelain Veneers or Laminate
Porcelain veneers can hide stains and chips and straighten teeth that
are misaligned. Porcelain veneers, which are thin and customized to each
patient's teeth, are both durable and very natural looking. Usually two
office visits. Teeth will be prepared and impressions made on the first
visit, which can take from one to three hours. Laminates will be fitted
and inserted on the second visit, which also will take a minimum of two
to three hours, and sometime longer. In most cases, temporaries will be
placed. We recommend curtailment of any major social functions or important
business engagements between the preparation visit and seating visit.
Also, try to restrict brittle foods from your diet and maintain regular
oral hygiene therapy. See examples on Our Results
page.
